The smart meter rollout in Europe is very much driven by the regulator; i.e. utilities are installing smart meters mainly because of timelines and goals set by the European Commission. The regulator of course expects be economic and environmental benefits from enforcing the smart meter rollouts.

  • Insight creation is connected to quality and ease of acquiring data
  • Decision-making should lead to actions and new products and revenue
  • Automated processes are required to keep up with the changes in customer consumption over time
